| 17/12/2005 Changed server, finally managed to fix the links. Apologies for the massive "downtime", other major things have been preoccupied us way too long. In this "fix" update there's unfortunately nothing new, actually, even worse; Some of the images seem to have gone missing in the process :-/ The Kasumi Shrine will most likely get forumized next, which would allow us to have much more interactivity :) |

Have
you ever thought
why Lara Croft is so popular? Why does everybody consider her as first
"popular" heroine in the videogames? Let us tell you something: There's
something that Japanese have known a looooong time, an ultimate secret
known as character design what seems to still be quite alien the for
western
game-industry. And it includes almost as many girls/women than guys.
But
most of all we wonder how can they get Lara look so damn ugly and make
everybody think she looks good!?!? (The new IRL
Lara is completely a different thing ^___^)
Tecmo released a game called Dead or Alive (DoA) at the same time as Namco released Tekken 3 (we're talking about arcade versions now, both had their psx versions later). This is a pity, as Tekken really left DoA in the shadow, and most people - unfortunately - remember it only from it's most distinguishable feature: Bouncing Breasts (tm? ^_^). It is (was, DoA2 is out) very nice fighting-game with a really fast and chaotic gameplay and would have earned more attention than just for the bouncing. But later about DoA, let us introduce you one of the most beautiful videogame-kunoichi (female ninja) ever: Kasumi. This site is mostly dedicated to worship her. If you have a problem with that then go read your Gailman or Miller comics. |
| She's our personal Goddess. The Japanese have fortunately ambition to design even the fighting-game characters with more detail than just name and style. Let's move on and look this beauty in more detail (no pun intended ^_^). Read on mortal, your destiny awaits... |

| "Kasumi's
brother, Hayate, was next in line to succeed as the 18th master of the
Mugen Tenjin Academy...until one fateful day when an assassin attacked
and crippled him. Her father Shiden was left bitter and refuses to
mention
the details surrounding the attack. Kasumi wants revenge; and she's
determined
to succeed as 18th master of the school."
- DoA I manual Kasumi, a true bred "female ninja" of the "Mugen-Tenshin" style. In an attemp to settle her brother Hayate's old scores, she became a "runaway shinobi". Immediatly after "Dead or Alive 1 World Combat Championship", she was taken captive by the Super-human Development Project. While held captive, her clone, Kasumi ALPHA was created. - DoA II manual That caption gave some general info about her, and why she's fighting. Remember, in anime and Japan-made videogames it's never just for the sake of fighting, there's usually something behind it all. And then they say quakez have plot and this genre not... Well, enough of the stat-thingy. What's so special about her then anyway? There's many over-sexed female characters in all the other games too and kunoichi is not that exotic sight either in beat'em ups. Actually we don't know what it actually is which hits us so hard about her; Just how she looks, how she sounds like and the "person" she gives impression as if she would be a real person. Let's have a look..... |

|
Let's start from the looks. We know that's what you're interested the most anyway, eh? ^_^ Let's have it in funny "parts" so it wouldn't be too dull to read ^_^ And now, it begins, from...
Oh boy oh boy oh BOY...in the original design she was probably brown-haired but whoever is the guy who did the little "enchantment" deserves our sincere gratitude. It doesn't only look wonderful, but also manages to make her a little more exotic looking amongst the videogame-babes. And that's not a very small achievement! It's just so damn hard to say which one is prettier out of two 105% pure beautiful things; when she has her hair in ponytail like in picture up there or semi-open like in DreamCast pal-version shown below! ![]()
Her eyes. Simply stunning. 'nuff said ^_^ As told before, she has one of the cutest faces ever seen in beat'em ups, you have to see it for yourself. And don't forget the peach-coloured lips! Yayyy! Hmm, even though that doesn't apply much to eyes.....who cares! All this is very exquisite, but let's
not forget
the... |

| Mudra?
Ok. Even as an martial artist of some sort I've never ever heard anything about this but that doesn't naturally mean anything at all =) Jason Enfield (arigato~!) shared his knowledge in guestbook, but yet my search did not reveal any link between mudra and ninjutsu...well, maybe I just had bad luck! Anyway, here is what the gbook entry said (with some corrections made to lazy english, mind you ò_ó): ![]() There. It appears there is a very nice page with terminology
related,
and also explains something about the mudra (it's sanskrit word, not
japanese
btw as the page says. If you don't know what sanskrit is, shame on you!
Get educated a.s.a.p.!) This is a copy
from
the page just in case the address would change some day so everybody
respect
the original author. |

That's about it...Read on though, as there's soooo much more in people/girls than just the looks! It's only a bonus, no? ^_^ Except if you're a pervert and don't care about anything else o_0 A little remark about her voice. If you ever played DoA you might remember her cute, girlish voice which was sweet as honey.... Probably First and Last time ninja ever to sounds that cute. She's supposed to be an assassin ^_^ She's strong. She's dangerous. But only when she has to be! Woman doesn't have to be 24h nazi-lesbian-feminist with hairy legs to be "strong" (strong doesn't mean physical strength here). Strong women who still have their feminity rock ass! One of the most cutest scenes is one of Kasumi's victory poses when she falls (actually collapses) on her knees, apologizes her opponent and asks if he's/she's okay! ("Gomenasai! Daijobu?") Not many ninjas do this when they have first beat the shit out of you! ^_^ It's almost over-girlish, and gives her very nice personality as like a coin with two sides. The other half is convicted, deadly, merciless and dangerous where the other half is still human, 17 year old girl and has emotions. It's usually only of of the other, specially in western character concepts (Which might be more realistic, however). Don't you just love videogame-kunoichi's? ^_^ Please check out the DoA fan-made manga in stuff-section and you will maybe understand more about her personality than from this babbling. Jason Enfield (thanks again!) had good words for putting it all together, and I hope he doesn't mind including all what he says in the guestbook entry: "Even though she is a fictional character, she has all the qualities any man would be lucky to find in a woman. Beauty, compassion, fierceness, her inner strength. Take all that, combined with the skills of the legendary ninja and that for me is the epitome of female perfection. That is the best I can do to explain my view on Kasumi." I think there is not much to add. Well
spoken,
my fellow mortal. That's about it. Like that wouldn't be enough :) For the final word, aren't we just crazy bunch of guys? ^_^ So for the sake of clarity please try to find out yourself how serious we are after all.... |
